are you my moms?

the musings of yet another lesbian couple on the journey of mother(s)hood

About Us August 27, 2011

MKL and I (ECL) have been together for over 14 years, married for 12 (and now legally married for almost a year – go SCOTUS!).  I spend my weekdays in corporate America, while MKL is a stay-at-home mom to our beautiful boy.  On the weekend I get to pursue my passion for music, teaching voice lessons in our sweet little bungalow of a house.  MKL can usually be found gardening, cleaning (with adorable compulsion) or otherwise making said bungalow the place I want to come home to.

Maybe you’re reading this because you’re ttc (yeah…I know all the acronyms), because you’re bored at work, or (most likely) because you’re someone we know, and you’re being directed here for updates on the baby-making.  Regardless of what brought you here, thanks for reading.

Hi! My partner and I are going through the SAME situation as you guys, almost to a scary degree: we live in Atlanta, I’m a singer (used to be a nanny), I work in a corporate job and she is self employed, and I think we’re going through the same fertility docs/guru! I’d love to connect with you by email and find out more about your experiences, and I’m loving your blog. So well written! Thanks for sharing your story. It gives us hope!

We are TTC too – but kind of different in some ways – based in New Zealand, my wife (who is originally from the Caribbean) works from home in IT/Business Analyst and I do contract fundraising for different (mainly youth and / or arts related charities). We are using a DIY method lol, with the help of my wife’s brother, who’s on a ‘working’ holiday from the Caribbean 😉 We can’t wait to have a baby (or 3) that’s genetically related to both of us, and hopefully looks like us both too. We are currently waiting to hear if our present attempt has been successful. Wish us luck, and even better come and wish it to us on our blog heehee.
